Non Vital Bleaching:

Some teeth that have been root canal treated or that have previously suffered a dental injury (a previous impact to the mouth/teeth) can show various degrees of discoloration. This can be due to the breakdown of remnants of the dental pulp (tissues inside the tooth that contains nerves and blood vessels that help nourish the tooth), bacterial by-products or due to the dental materials previously used to fill the tooth. Internal bleaching of the tooth in question is a conservative treatment option that may be used to improve this discoloration.
A thorough assessment of the dentition would be required prior to bleaching, to assess if bleaching is suitable and if additional treatment is necessary before the bleaching can be carried out.
