Dr Claire O’Connor BDS NUI(HONS), MFD RCSI

Dr Claire O’Connor graduated with honours from UCC in 2006. She spent 2 years working in general practice in Waterford before embarking on a year abroad which included practicing in Australia and volunteering in Cambodia. On her return to Ireland, Claire returned to general practice. She completed her MFD examinations with the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland in 2010 and commenced practice in Bantry, Co. Cork that same year.

Over the years Claire has devoted thousands of hours to advanced technical training and to studying with some of the masters in the dental profession. She has developed expertise in the highly specialised areas of biomimetics, adult orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry and anti-wrinkle treatments. Claire is currently undertaking a one year mastership in Biomimetic Dentistry.
In addition she has attended specialised courses on implant restoration, root canal treatment, digital dentistry and composite and ceramic dentistry. She is a member of the Irish Dental Association, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the Irish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry. Claire’s commitment to continuing education and modern techniques is coupled with her desire to provide the best possible treatment for each patient. Claire focusses on providing a highly individualised approach and personal attention to each and every patient. Claire prides herself on attention to detail. She uses magnification during procedures which allows for an unsurpassed level of precision.

Outside of dentistry, Claire is married to John and has three children, Erica, Isobel and Eoin. She has a keen interest in reading, golf, badminton, paddle-boarding and walking her dogs.


Dr Olivea Morcos B.A., B. Dent Sc(TCD), MFDS RCS(Ed)

Olivea graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an honours degree in Dentistry in 2015. She later completed the membership examinations for the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, and is currently undertaking a postgraduate diploma in Orthodontics.

Olivea strives to make her patients’ dental experience as comfortable and pleasant as possible, as she understands how daunting a trip to the dentist may be. She believes in providing thorough explanations and gentle treatment, putting anxious patients and children at ease. Olivea provides a range of dental treatments, including some advanced treatments such as crowns, bridges, dentures and orthodontics. Her focus is on providing premium quality dentistry using the best possible materials and techniques with personalised follow up on advanced treatments. Her aim is to maintain and improve the health of her patients, and allow them to be independent in doing so, with minimal professional intervention.

Outside of dentistry Olivea’s hobbies include reading, travelling and music. She is married to Andre.

Ms Teresa Dunne RDH

Teresa commenced work in Bantry Dental in February 2017. Having first qualified as a Dental Nurse from UCC in 1999 and worked in a Private Practice specialising in Crown, Bridgework and Implants. She qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 2004 from Cork Dental School and Hospital. Teresa has since worked in General Practices throughout the Cork and Kerry area and has gained considerable experience.

Outside of work her interests include spinning, walking, reading and cooking. She is married to Dominic and has three children.

Michelle Connolly RDN

Michelle commenced work as a dental assistant in the summer of 2010. She received her diploma in dental nursing from University College Cork in 2012. She is our senior surgery assistant at Bantry Dental.

She has vast experience and she is a great support to both Dr. O’ Connor and all their patients. Michelle looks after all her patients and enjoys her role at the practice.

Away from work, she enjoys spending time with her daughter Pippa, walking her dog Sally and meeting her friends as well as being a keen soccer player.

John Lynch

John joined the practice following a 16 year career in the military where he held a number of management positions both at home and abroad. His role is to coordinate all areas of the practice to ensure the optimum experience for patients. He holds a BSc Hons in Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Leadership, Defence and Contemporary Security.

His hobbies including rugby, hiking, cycling and kayaking. He is married to Claire and they have 3 children, Erica, Isobel and Eoin.
